About our Club

Welcome to The Miracle League of the Okefenokee!

Where everyone deserves a chance to play baseball...and to cheer!

What We Do- We provide a baseball and cheerleading program to children and adults, ages 5 and up, with disabilities.

When Do We Play- We play in the Spring and the Fall. In the Spring, registration usually opens on February 1st with the 1st games beginning in mid-March.In the Fall, registration usually open August 1st with the 1st games beginning in mid-September.

How Many Games Do We Play- Each player plays 8 games over 8 weeks. (Weather permitting)

Where Do We Play- We play on the Miracle League Field located at Ware County Recreational Department's Trembling Earth Sports Complex located at 2110 Recreation Drive, Waycross, GA. 31503.

How Many Players Are On A Team- Team size varies depending on how many players register.

What Team Will I Be On- In consideration for the safety and enjoyment of the players, we divide our teams into the following groups: Youth/Lite Hitters, Mix/Medium Hitters, Competitive/Heavy Hitters. We make every effort to place a player in the appropriate team group but may deviate due to circumstances.

When do Cheerleaders Perform- Cheerleaders are instructed on what time to be at the field for practice, then perform in-between the 1st and 2nd games.

What If My Child Is Severely Disabled And Can't Hit The Ball, Run, etc.- No problem! We will make sure your player has a buddy to assist them or if they feel more comfortable with a family member as a buddy, that's ok too.

What do Baseball Players and Cheerleaders Receive- Cheerleaders receive a jersey/t-shirt. We also provide pom-poms. Baseball players receive a jersey and a cap.

Can Anyone Be A Buddy- We depend on our community for volunteers! All buddies need to be 12 or older. We encourage individuals and groups to register as buddies on our website. Buddies also need to sign a waiver at the Buddy Sign-in table located at the 3rd base field gate, prior to going onto the field and they are also required to attend the Buddy Instruction Session at the pitcher's mound 15 minutes prior to the 1st game. The waiver states that we can use any photo or video images of you on our website or social media accounts, that you will not hold us liable in case of injury, and that you have not been convicted of a felony.
